09/04/2016 Howff: Loch Ness Camping and Caravanning Site

Saturday 09 04.   Stirling to Loch Ness Camping and Caravanning Site.

Woke refreshed.   Needed loo.   Used satnav to nearest Sainsbury’s.  Within minutes directed onto the A9 and within the hour, legs plaited, at Morrison’s in Perth. Morrison’s provided loo, breakfast, petrol and supplies- Hoorah.

Dalwhinnie Distillary

Over breakfast Alastair found a cheap campsite, where we could use lots of essential facilities, using Morrison’s free wifi, on the shores of Loch Ness. Ideal!

Unfortunately it turned out to be less than cheap at £28, Alastair’s reluctance to decline booking once he’d heard the price was to blame.  Lesson learned.

The site turned out to be beautiful and right on the shore, though a long drive down the remnants of General Wade’s single-track military road was required to reach the campsite by 3.00pm. Slightly wearing on the tired nerves.
Emptied the garage again. No sign of the source of the leak. Walked along the shore, siskins on the bird feeders, relaxing evening, hot showers, great nights’ sleep.
